The Be Kind campaign was birthed from a desire to inspire people to create connections with others through the simple act of kindness. As someone who, like so many others, has experienced a grave amount of bullying in this lifetime, I’ve also experienced just how powerful kindness can feel. Kindness has changed and saved my life on a number of occasions. It has taught me that even in the darkest of times, it can light up an entire room. I’ve learned that sometimes being kind is far more rewarding than receiving that kindness. I’ve seen, and felt, my life change with every act of kindness that crosses my path. Heck, it doesn’t even have to cross my path for it to impact me in big ways. Kindness creates a ripple effect and inspires others to do the same. When I see someone smile, I want to smile. When someone pays for my coffee in the drive-thru, it fuels me to pay for the person behind me. But the most beautiful thing about kindness is that it is free, both to give and receive. It has its own currency that creates a common language spoken from culture to culture.
Now, I realize there are many Be Kind campaigns out there. The more, the better, I believe! When I first launched Be Kind campaign, I did so as a fundraiser to start building my dream of opening Big Heart, Mini Farm, an animal sanctuary whose mission is to instill inclusion through kindness. And although that is still a dream in the works, life happened and the world is now in the middle of a pandemic. So, now, the funds from the Be Kind T-shirt campaign will be going towards supporting the creation of my family, as a single Transgender guy who lost his job while recovering from COVID-19. I’m inviting you all along to join me on the journey.
I’m excited for the journey ahead, and stay tuned, because there is beauty just around the corner. I hope you keep coming back for more inspiring stories. Sign up to receive new posts and stories in your inbox. Most importantly, Be Kind.
With Kindness, Danny
